Visit this Faubourg Marigny single shotgun now joined with an ultra-modern two-story addition.
In this project, retained bargeboard construction is juxtaposed with wide expanses of glass walls surrounding nearly as much outdoor living space as indoor. The original structure has been returned to its historic form, complete with wood windows, brackets, and a restored two-bay facade, while the new construction contrasts boldly with the surrounding historic Faubourg Marigny architecture.
With a neighborhood introduction by Gene Cizek, Ph.D., F.A.I.A., Professor of Architecture & Preservation Studies at the Tulane School of Architecture.
Architect Byron Mouton, Principal of BILD Design, and Director of the Tulane School of Architecture’s design/build program, URBANbuild, will speak about the remodel of the house. Mourton was recently featured in the 2013 New Orleans Homes and Lifestyles edition of Design Masters.
